THE CHERRYTREE POP ALTERNATIVE TOUR COMES TO EUROPE,
featuring LMFAO with special guests Far East Movement and Colette Carr
Santa Monica, CA (October 24, 2011) – Following the overwhelming response and unparalleled success of the colossal Cherrytree Pop Alternative Tour in Canada, Cherrytree Records, Your Pop Alternative™, hosts party rockers LMFAO with special guests Far East Movement and Colette Carr on the label’s follow-up concert tour of Europe. The Cherrytree Pop Alternative Tour Europe will rage for three months through 16 countries. Cherrytree Records founder, Martin Kierszenbaum, is thrilled to be back across the Atlantic: “We felt so welcome in Europe at our ‘Cherrytree London’ event last May that we are excited to come back for a full-on Cherrytree Pop Alternative Tour. We are so proud of our Cherrytree artists LMFAO, Far East Movement and Colette Carr and grateful to the warm reception European audiences have given them.”
LMFAO continues to party rock the world on their path to global domination with their debut album Sorry For Party Rocking and combined singles sales now surpassing 10 million. “Party Rock Anthem” topped the global charts this year going #1 in 19 countries, while the new single “Sexy and I Know It” is already #1 in five countries. Together both videos have amassed a total of 325 million views on YouTube. For those who STILL haven’t learned to “shuffle” be sure to tune in Nov 6th and catch their performance at this year’s MTV European Music Awards. LMFAO’s Redfoo commented, “We can't wait to Party Rock the globe with our Cherrytree family. Fans bring your umbrellas; LMFAO is coming to get you wet.”
Far East Movement, who will be release their sophomore album in early 2012, will join the tour to introduce European fans to some of their new music and play the hits from their rookie album Free Wired including "Like A G6,” “Rocketeer,” and “If I Was You”. Kev Nish of Far East Movement added, "It’s exciting to go from the first Cherrytree London show to a full tour in Europe. There was something special in the air that night from the blend of all the music from our Cherrytree fam that left us sayin’, ‘damn it would be sick to tour with this line up.’ It is incredible to see Martin and the Tree team to bring this to life."
Colette Carr's brand of Malibu-flavored "hip-pop" blends early Eminem with classic Cindi Lauper. The video for her latest single, “No I.D.” with label mate and frequent collaborator Frankmusik, is a throwback to the 1978 film Grease-meets a mutant glee. Colette recently hit no. 1 on Billboard's Uncharted Chart and topped MTV.com's playlist with her video "Back It Up."
Founded in 2005 by songwriter, producer and label executive Martin Kierszenbaum, Cherrytree Records has had a huge impact on modern pop, launching the 15 million album selling Lady Gaga in 2009 as well as guiding the flourishing US careers of Robyn, La Roux, Feist, Ellie Goulding and worldwide successes of LMFAO and Far East Movement. In the process, Cherrytree Records and CherrytreeRecords.com have become a source for pop alternative music and culture as well as catalysts for artist collaboration and innovation.
Cherrytree Records is known for their novel approach to bringing great pop to people. Flowing in and around the tour will be Cherrytree Cola: Cherrytree has worked in close partnership with legendary beverage maker Fentimans to brew a flavorful new cherry cola that fits the unique Cherrytree Records brand. Cherrytree Cola is available in select Whole Foods stores now. Stay tuned to drinkthemusic.com for updates.
